Card Text: In this twelve story structure Richmond's see more than a modern hotel. Like milestones in Richmond's growth since the War have stood in succession the hostelries of Col. John Murphy around this self-same spot. A one room oyster restaurant in 1872, to-day one of the South's largest hotels typifying the progressive Richmond, the greater Richmond of to-morrow. On this beautiful edifice $650,000 has been expended. $150,000 in decorations alone. With its 300 guest rooms, luxurious furnishings, spacious marble lobby, superbly appointed dining room, this hotel with its annexes affords ever known comfort for its guests. Beautiful and Historic Richmond, Va. Series no. 35; Postmarked: 1914 |
