The storefront is intact and the painting of signs and the crowning are typical of its period. Original Note (From Book): Brook Road - Brook Road is one of the oldest highways in the City, historically the major entrance to Richmond from the north. It became commercial by the middle of the nineteenth century, but has declined in importance due to the construction of Chamberlayne Avenue and Belvidere Street.
